Join us at Colorado State University (CSU) Spur as we host an exclusive and private screening of Dr. Temple Grandin's not-yet-released documentary - An Open Door – followed by a Q&A panel with her, alongside the film's director, John Barnhardt, and CSU president, Amy Parsons.

As the social hour reception continues in the theater foyer, Dr. Grandin will also sign and distribute copies of her most recent book, Visual Thinking: The Hidden Gifts of People Who Think in Pictures, Patterns, and Abstractions.

Attendees must travel on bus transportation provided by WIA. No exceptions, one departure time.

CSU SPUR: Self-Guided Tour

Tuesday, September 24 | 9:00 a.m.

CSU Spur connects and inspires visitors through the ability to watch ongoing research, to see behind-the-scenes of services, and to watch professionals at work. During the visit you’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Watch veterinarians at work in our live operating theater
  • See horses rehabilitate on underwater treadmills
  • Learn about animal and human anatomy through VR headsets
  • Explore the rooftop greenhouse and green roof
  • Visit our teaching kitchen and food labs
  • Learn about grey water catchment and other sustainability efforts throughout the campus
  • Enjoy a variety of art exhibits that bridge art and science

CSU Spur Tour

KALCEVIC FARM TOUR

Tuesday, September 24 | 8:00 a.m. and 9:30 a.m.

Twenty-five miles east of Denver, nestled between idyllic walking paths and state parks is Kalcevic Farms. In operation since 1898 and now managed by fourth generation family members, the farm specializes in producing dry land wheat, corn, sorghum, and milo. See how it all happens during this exclusive WIA Summit tour.

WOMEN IN PROTEIN DINNER

Tuesday, September 24 | 7:00 p.m. - 9:00 p.m.

The annual Women in Protein Dinner presents a unique occasion for accomplished women leaders in the protein industry to convene and network. This year's gathering will take place at the Fogo de Chão Brazilian Steakhouse which offers a variety of proteins alongside a full salad and sides bar. Located downtown Denver, it is about a 15-minute walk from our event venue.  

Additional registration of $125. Limited seating.

Wednesday 7:00 a.m. and Thursday 6:30 a.m.

Start your day with a little zen. Rise early and raise your heart rate at this on-site yoga class, two separate mornings of the Summit. Yoga mats are provided thanks to our sponsor: Illinois Soybean Association.
