Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC - Kuner Feedlot & Loveland Products Plant

Visit Five Rivers Cattle Feeding and Loveland Products Plant
2:00 PM return to Hilton Denver City Center
Lunch will be provided by Nutrien. A coffee break will be hosted by Five Rivers.

Five Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC is the largest cattle feeder in the world with facilities at 11 locations and a one-time feeding capacity of 900,000 head. The Kuner Feedlot, located in Kersey, Colorado, has a 100,000 head capacity and employs about 60 people.

On your tour of Kuner Feedlot, you will see a fully functioning and operational feed yard. Feeding cattle is a 365 day per year job, and your tour date will be no exception. We will cover a brief history of Five Rivers, an overview of cattle feeding and feed production, animal health, and the programs that are based exclusively out of the Kuner Feedlot. After a brief interactive portion in the office, the bus will take the group on a tour including the mill, receiving facility, cattle pens, and a chance to get out in the yard to observe the program cattle.

Join us on this unique tour of our Loveland Products Plant in Greeley, CO. You'll learn how Nutrien helps feed the future through our adjuvant product line. Touring the plant you'll see first-hand how we process and package chemicals for distribution directly to farmers. You'll also have a chance to learn more about the science behind adjuvants and the changing technologies at our onsite lab. 

Guests should wear long pants and sturdy closed-toe shoes as we will be walking through the manufacturing facility. Protective equipment will be provided.

Ardent Mills Innovation Center Tour



Monday, September 24, 2018 from 10:00 AM - 2:00 PM

WIA is offering small group tours of the Ardent Mills downtown Innovation Center. Guests will have the chance to view all of the functional areas of the center from the R&D Applications Lab to the Culinary Center and more! See how Ardent Mills uses their unique small-scale milling equipment to process varieties of flour. Visit their bake lab where their expert team experiments with a variety of baking processes and flours. See the analytical lab where a team of experts conducts wet chemistry and dough rheology testing to help the product development cycle run smarter. There will be samples!

Participants will walk from the Hilton Denver City Center to the Ardent Mills facility, a 10-minute walk. If you are physically unable to walk this distance, please contact email to arrange for transportation.

In this digitized age, important interpersonal skills such as communication, teamwork, and active listening are being left by the wayside in favor of technical skills. While these specialized skills gained from your education and training will get you the interview, the aforementioned people skills are more imperative to acquire and retain a job. This session will explore learning and practice the critical skills needed to handle important conversations, respond in emotional or difficult situations, and build a successful career.
